I think I will stay with the square port set up because I have the intake . and i'm cheap like that . WebNov 2, 2007 · Greg - The BMF head was originally machined from Canfield castings. Canfield couldn't keep up with demand, so CFE went straight to the source. When they did this, they designed a dedicated casting for their BMF heads, which is why there was a 6-8 month b/o on these heads last year. He is a very prominent Pro Stock Head developer and porter from East Pointe, Michigan. From what i read his line of BMF heads differ from the standard line of Canfields. The Can 310, with a 2.300 intake is sized ideally for a 7000rpm 540 na. I may be doing a set here soon that we can really see wht we can get out of them. As I understand it, BMF now uses a Brodix casting and uses their own CNC program. You can't beat the price, the cnc work is nice and the delivery times from cfe are great. I haven't used any of the bmf heads straight out of the box, but with a bit of work, they make great power.
